When most women get to a certain age, they start wondering who their future husband is going to be and if they will ever find him. Now a lot of Christians will say that if you want to find a husband, then you have to devote your life to God so that he gives you a husband.
As a Christian, the best decision you can ever make is to devote your life to God but that doesn’t mean that once you do it, you will find a husband.
There are a lot of women out there who are very devoted to God and have been for years and even decades, yet are still single. And there are women out there who aren’t devoted to God and yet are married.
But in all this, one thing I strongly believe is that when you are devoted to God, your life goes according to His plan. When you are devoted to God, you give Him the chance to work through you, and His will is done in your life.
This means that, although devoting your life to God doesn’t mean you will immediately find a husband, it means that you will be exactly where God wants you to be and at the appropriate time, His will shall be done in your life.
So if you are a devoted Christian who has been praying for a husband for years and yet, you are still single, don’t think that God has forgotten about you. Know that you are serving a good and faithful God who knows what’s best for you. Trust the timing of God.
Why is God taking so long to give me a husband?
This is a question that a lot of women ask themselves. Sometimes when you’ve prayed for so long for a husband, you start to question God, that why is he taking so long. But the thing is you only think that God is taking so long because you are looking at your own timing.
God’s timing is never late. God’s timing is always at the right time. Finding a husband early in life doesn’t guarantee a good or happy life. Having a husband later in life doesn’t guarantee a good life either. The only thing that guarantees a good life is a life with God.
So instead of focusing on your own timing and freaking out that everyone is getting married but you, focus on God. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:32 that ” I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord”.
So if you are single, you only need to care about the things of God and how to please God. You don’t have to think and worry about why you are still single and why God is taking so long because he is not taking so long. His timing is just right.
What if God does not to give me a husband?
Not that marriage is a bad thing. Marriage is a beautiful thing created by God and so is being single. Getting married is not going to solve your problems in life and make you happy.
There are married couples who aren’t happy. There are married couples who are having problems, even married Christians have problems too. So marriage is not what you need to be fulfilled in life.
Now human beings are created in a way that we long for love, affection, and companionship. And the truth is, it gets lonely sometimes and it makes us want to have a partner. But that doesn’t mean that a spouse is what you need to be fulfilled in life.
So instead of worrying about getting a husband, cast that burden onto the Lord (Psalm 55:22) and pray that God helps you find your purpose in life.
How to pray for your future husband
Pray that he is a devout Christian
Instead of praying to God to help you find a husband or to bring you a husband, pray to God to bring you a man who will draw you closer to God. Sometimes, the relationships we get in can affect our relationship with God.
It will be sad to devote your life to God for so many years and yet backslide because of a man who came into your life. So pray that your future husband will be a man who is also a devoted Christian. Pray that he is a man who knows the word of God and believes in the word of God.
Pray that he is a man who will help strengthen your relationship with God. You should also pray that he is a man who also has a close relationship with God and lives a godly life.
Pray that God’s will be done in your life
Now, if you’ve been praying about getting a future husband, chances are you already have in mind, what you want your ideal husband to look like or to be like.
But the thing is that our plans are not God’s plans. And sometimes, what we think we want might not be what’s best for us. So when you pray, pray that God’s plan for you prevail. Pray that he makes the choice for you when it comes to your future spouse.
Pray that God helps you to know when you find him. Pray that he opens your eyes and your heart so that you don’t miss the one he chose for you because you were expecting something else.
Pray that God prepares you for a godly marriage
When praying for your future husband, you also have to pray for yourself. Your husband can’t make the marriage work alone. It takes the two of you to make the marriage work. So as you are praying for a godly man, pray that you will be a godly woman too.
Pray that God strengthens your faith in Him. Pray that you love God more and more with each passing day. Pray that you desire to learn the word of God everyday. And also pray that you will be able to act on the word of God. Pray that you will be the kind of wife that your future husband will be thankful to God for.

Today, I pray for my future husband’s business or career. I do not know who he is or what he does, but I trust that You do and I place him in Your capable hands. Dear Lord,
I pray that you will prepare for me a man who is strong in will and character. Teach him to only rely on you for his strength in all his doings. Help him to learn from his day-to-day life.Let his experiences in life build his strength and character. Let his experiences teach him perseverance and give him courage so that he won’t be swayed regardless of the adversities he may face.
Teach him to be a faithful and giving partner. Someone who will be an inspiration to all and our children can look up to. I pray that he will be a compassionate father who will be gentle and caring to our children.
Teach him to be a good leader, so that he can serve our family right and be able to bring out the best in me and everyone in the family. Teach him to be able to love and respect me as his wife. Thank you for answering my prayers in Jesus’ name
