Having surgery can stir fear and anxiety in anyone’s heart. No matter how brave someone seems, the thought of going under the knife is enough to cause worry. Whether it’s surgery to have a baby, remove a tumor, replace an organ or body part, or undergo a transplant, it’s natural to fear the unknown outcome.
For a Christian, this fear is no different. It’s okay to feel troubled about an upcoming surgery. Even Jesus, when He walked the earth, experienced moments of deep distress. Before His crucifixion, He prayed to God, asking if there was another way ( Luke 22:4).
However, as a child of the Living God, you are entitled to certain privileges. He is always by your side, through every difficulty. His Holy Spirit dwells within you, promising victory in every battle. You have already been healed through the suffering He endured on your behalf. Let this truth fill your heart with courage and faith, strengthening you to face whatever comes without fear or panic.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God”
Isaiah 41:10
There were times on this fallen earth when the evil one sought to destroy the children of God with pestilence and incurable diseases. In those times, the children of God prayed, and He granted them the knowledge and wisdom to find a cure.
Remember, humans come from God, and any intelligence we possess or discover is a gift from Him. Your surgery is possible because God has made His children wise, enabling them to uncover a way to heal you. Therefore, it is God who is healing you.
Pray that God sees you through this process, that there are no complications, and that if possible, you are spared from the need for surgery altogether. Pray that nothing harmful is found within your body. Ask that any evil threatening to harm you during the surgery is returned to where it came from. God is with you, and He will carry you through this successfully.

Dear Lord,
I thank you for my life today. As I prepare for surgery, I commit the surgeons into Your hands. I ask for Your special grace upon them, that You would help them find the wisdom they need. Remind them of all that they have learned and guide them in every moment.
Lord, hold their hands through each step of the procedure. Keep mistakes far from the operating room and steady them through the task at hand. Help them not to panic, but instead, let them do what is required with calm and clarity.
Grant them courage in the face of challenges, and give them the patience to work through every detail. Push them through difficult moments, and guide them through any sticky situations they may encounter.
Finally, Lord, let them complete this surgery with success. Let Your presence be with them every step of the way.

Dear Lord,
Grant me strength through this operation. Please calm my spirit, my soul, and my heart.
I pray for courage, inspiration, and determination. Help me overcome any fears of death and destroy any fears of failure. Strengthen me to resist evil thoughts and surround me with encouragement.
Help me to stay strong and hold my peace. Let me not be shaken, and help me not to be pessimistic. Keep my faith in You unwavering, and help me not to lose hope in You.

Father Lord,
I pray for this surgery to go well. Let everything that needs to go well, go well. Let nothing bad happen on that day, and let no unforeseen events disrupt the plans.
Let no evil plans come to fruition, and may all who wait for bad news be disappointed. I pray that the surgeon sees any issues early and is able to prevent any complications.
Grant them wisdom on the day of the surgery, and let everything proceed smoothly. May my body respond well to the treatment, and let my system not rebel.
Above all, I pray that I emerge from this surgery even healthier than before.

Father Lord,
I pray against any demonic plans during this time. I cast down any plans of death and destroy any plans of disability. I burn down any plans of complications.
Let Your angels guard me through it all, and may their swords surround the surgery room. Cover the room with the precious blood of Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit sanctify all the surgical tools.
Let Your healing power fill the room, and block any evil intentions. Block any physical attempts to harm me, and block any spiritual attempts to destroy me.
Bless me with strength and courage throughout this entire process.
