One thing I deeply love about Ghana is that it is openly proclaimed as a Christian nation. Even our national anthem calls on God to bless Ghana and make her strong – a reminder that our foundation as a people is meant to rest on Him.
Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.”
God is almighty and sovereign, and when we place our trust in Him, He shields us from harm. This truth applies not only to individuals, but to Ghana as a whole. When Ghana depends on God, He will protect her borders, strengthen her people, and secure her future.
But Ghana faces challenges, moral decay, division, greed, injustice, and the constant temptation to drift from God’s ways. These struggles affect every part of our society, from families and communities to leaders and institutions. Without God’s guidance, a nation loses its way; with Him, it finds peace, unity, and prosperity.
This is why we must lift Ghana up in prayer, praying for her peace, for righteousness to reign, for her people to love one another, for her resources to be used wisely, and for God’s hand to rest upon every heart and home.
Leaders, too, need prayer, but so do farmers, teachers, students, business owners, mothers, fathers, and children. Ghana’s strength is in her people, and her people’s strength is in God.
