We all know that giving, especially to the poor and needy, is a good thing to do. But did you know that being a Christian is about more than just giving to others? It’s about pleasantly and liberally giving. You have to give cheerfully and generously.

God wants us to give from the bottom of our hearts, and to give our all, without any guilt, reluctance, or fear. The bible talks a lot about being generous and why it is important to do so. Prayer for a generous heart

Gracious Lord,
I thank you for all the amazing things that you keep doing in my life
Thank you for the mercy and blessings you shower me with
I pray that you help me to extend that to others
Help me to be compassionate in my heart

Teach me to be generous, Lord
So that I can give freely, without reckoning the cost
Encourage me to be a cheerful giver, without expecting any reward
Show me how to humbly serve others,
So that I can always do what you desire,
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen
