Verse – Jeremiah 17:5-8
This is what the Lord says:
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Reflection – Jeremiah 17:5-8 – Trust In The Lord
What do you put your trust in? Do you put your trust in man or physical things? Well, today God wants to tell you to trust in Him. God is our source of being and only He can make you what you want to be. Do not put your trust in men or objects whose days are numbered and prone to weakness and death.
When hard times approach, those who have your trust will flee from you to protect themselves and you will be left alone without any refuge. Seek refuge in the Lord for only He is all-powerful and all-knowing.
When you put your trust in God, He strengthens you to exceed and overcome any adversity. He makes your path straight and never leaves or forsakes you. Do not hang on to the words of mere mortals because they may change their minds as soon as they hear a bad word about you.
Strive to please the Lord in everything that you do and He will secure your days on earth with glory and life. Cursed are those who depended on the words of man but those who put all their trust in God always prosper and are never forsaken.
