When sin entered the world, it brought separation between God and mankind. So in order to renew man’s relationship with God, God sent down his only begotten son, Jesus Christ as a sacrificial lamb to die to pay the debt of our sins.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
Isaiah 53:5
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds, we are healed.
Good Friday is a day set aside to remember the ultimate price that Jesus Christ paid for our sins by dying on the cross.
He suffered so much for our sins. He was betrayed, humiliated, mocked and even spat on. He went through all that so that our sins may be forgiven and we can have eternal life.
