Verse – 2 Corinthians 5:10
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Reflection – 2 Corinthians 5:10 – Know Your Calling
Paul talks about two homes in this chapter. He mentions our spiritual home where we long to be together with God and our earthly home where we are tasked with the Lord’s works. Whether or not we make it to our spiritual homes which are away from the earthly one will depend on the works we are able to accomplish with the body we have now.
The Lord will judge each and every one of us on that day and ask us what we did with the mortal bodies we were given. He will give each of us what is due us based on whether we did his bidding or not. It is important to understand what your job on earth is.
Make no qualms about it, the Lord is only concerned about how you spread his word and win souls for his kingdom. Jesus left us with one simple message, to make disciples out of all the nations. This is the single calling for all those who follow him.
Today’s reflection reminds us of this calling. Your aim each day should be how to get more people to give their souls to God and follow his commandments and how to get people into his kingdom and save them from the hands of the devil.
There are people on earth who are distracted by the unnecessary requirements of this earth. Remember that all that you see will be destroyed and heaven and earth will pass away and only the word of God shall remain. Be careful what dominates your time on earth because the Lord will not ask you about how many houses you built on the Day of Judgment but rather how many souls you won for him with your good works.

I now know what my purpose in this body is and I shall live my life to bring others your word and win souls for your kingdom.
Remind me each day of my calling
Give me the strength to spread your word
Let me do your good works always
Let my ways be straight
Let me not be distracted by unnecessary earthly things
Fortify my spirit and grant me wisdom
and let me receive my crown of glory on that day of judgment
