Reflection – Matthew 28:18-20 – Christ Has The Final Authority

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Reflection – Matthew 28:18-20 – Christ Has The Final Authority

Christ is King over all creation. After his resurrection, he told his disciples to go and make followers of all nations, not some nations. When a king has authority over a certain area, it means that once he gives us permission to dwell there, no one can challenge us or try to take it from us.

Jesus has given us authority over all nations. This means that we have the power to claim it all for him. This is the spiritual significance of his death and resurrection. No power in heaven or earth has dominion over the power of Christ.

As a soldier of Christ, you can break and lose power on earth, under the earth, and in heaven. This is why he tells us to not be afraid of any evil. He is with us from now until the end.

We must start living as people with authority. We should be able to declare things and see them happen. We must be able to perform the miracles that Christ did because we have his authority. Most of all, we must spread the word and tell people the good news.

Once we were slaves but now we have been set free. We are no longer subject to this world but we have conquered death. We no longer live in fear of darkness because we have an everlasting light in us through Christ our Lord.

Prayer

Dear Lord
Thank you for dying for my sins
Thank you for the authority you have given me
Thank you for giving me dominion over everything
I ask that you strengthen me so I do not fear
Make my foundations sturdy
Let me make disciples of all nations
and let me spread your love and gospel in every corner of the world
Amen
