Reflection – Timothy 1:13-14 – Avail Yourself

Verse – 1 Timothy 1:13-14

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Reflection – Timothy 1:13-14 – Avail Yourself

Paul stands for the worsts of sinners in the Bible who were converted by the love of God. He is a symbol of how God can turn the dirtiest of human souls into pure ones through the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Paul was a murderer, a thief, a persecutor and so many things the Lord despised. But when the Lord touched him, he was willing to give his life for the gospel of God.

This should tell us that it doesn’t matter how dirty or muddy you’ve made yourself on this earth, the Lord can always make you clean. You do not have any excuse to remain in sin. There is never an impossible distance between you and redemption.

Like the prodigal son, the Lord will always welcome you with open arms no matter how far away you wander away from Him. Paul went on to preach the gospel and inspire a lot of Christians. He admonished and advised them on how to stay under the grace of the Lord. This means that you can also be used by the Lord to do his work if you avail yourself.
