Verse – Isaiah 57:12-13
I will expose your righteousness and your works, and they will not benefit you. When you cry out for help, let your collection of idols save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But whoever takes refuge in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.”
Reflection – Isaiah 57:12-13 – He Will Judge Everyone
It is easy to assume that everyone who lives a comfortable life is at peace with God. Isaiah’s revelation here speaks about those who have sought shelter and power from other places making them resist the Lord. God’s punishment for these people will be swift and just.
He says their idols cannot even save themselves from his wrath let alone those who have put their faith in them. We can learn from today’s society that a lot of people have sold their souls to lesser spirits and gods just so they can live a good earthly life.
Let us not forget that God made everything on earth, under the earth, and in heaven so only he has the ultimate power to create and destroy. We must be careful where we put our allegiance because He will judge everyone according to their works.
