While many would like to think that being a Christian means living a blissful life free of sorrows and tribulations, that is far from the truth. The bible says that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Many believe that being a Christian means living a blissful life free from sorrows and tribulations, but that is far from the truth. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Hard times will come. Temptations, trials, and tribulations are part of the journey. Yet, the good news is that God promises to deliver us from them all. As He says in Isaiah 41:10, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
It’s not always easy, and you may wonder where God is or why He hasn’t acted yet. But remember Paul’s words in James 1:2-4. Sometimes, God is using this time to prepare you for what He has in store for you.
So no matter what curveballs life throws at you, be still and find peace, for God is with you, working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
Prayer to bring you peace in testing times
Almighty Lord,
I don’t even know where to begin. With everything happening in my life right now, I feel exhausted. It seems like things are moving from bad to worse, and I’m at a loss for what to do. Each morning, I wake up with a heavy weight on my shoulders that makes me feel like I cant breathe.
But in all this, I trust that You are with me and that I am never alone. Lord, let Your peace wash over me. Help me not to dwell on my worries or stress over the things that feel out of control. Instead, guide me to focus on You, the Almighty God who holds my life in His hands.
Let me find rest, even in the storm, knowing You are in the boat with me. As Your Word says, “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you” (Psalm 91:7). I take comfort in knowing I am covered under Your mighty wings.
Lord, grant me peace because that is all I need as I wait on Your perfect timing to make things right in my life.
Amen.
