Peace is something we all long for. Whether in our homes, schools, workplaces, or communities, we desire peace in every aspect of our lives. Yet, there are many things that can disturb our peace of mind, both external challenges from the world around us and internal struggles from our own thoughts, worries, and fears.
However, no matter what is robbing you of your peace, God is the ultimate giver of peace. His Word assures us that when we bring our fears and anxieties to Him in prayer, He will grant us a peace that surpasses all understanding. No matter what you’re facing, bring your concerns to God in prayer.
In Isaiah 26, the Bible tells us that God will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him. When life’s challenges arise, we often find ourselves consumed by worry, allowing our thoughts to dwell on our problems. But in Isaiah 26:3, we are encouraged to focus our minds on God. When we turn our attention to Him instead of our circumstances, He will provide us with peace.
You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
Isaiah 26:3Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Prayer For Peace Of Mind
Everlasting Lord,
I thank You for my life and for all that You do for me. Thank You for always providing for me and protecting me. I praise Your Holy name, for You are Lord.
Father, I humbly ask that You send down Your Holy Spirit to fill me with Your peace. Let Your peace clear my mind of everything that steals my peace of mind. Remove all fears and anxieties from my heart and mind, and instead, fill me with the peace that transcends all understanding.
Help me to guard my heart and shut down all negativity around me that seeks to destroy my peace. I pray that You will help me to keep my mind on You, dear God, to focus on You, the blessings You shower me with every day, and to meditate on Your Word.
Help me to fill my mind with You and You alone. Teach me not to dwell on worries or thoughts that could disturb my peace. Thank You, dear God, for the peace that You have given to me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
