Bible Reflections – Psalm 149 – Sing Praises Unto The Lord

Verse – Psalm 149

Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds. May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them— this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.

Reflections – Psalm 149 – Sing praises unto the Lord

Sing songs of praise unto your Savior. Songs are words of meditation spoken in tune. They cause you to declare the glory of God every time you open your mouth. We must be thankful and full of blessings and praise for Him. He delights in our worship and they cause Him to free us from our shackles and bondage. Paul and Silas sang songs of praise to God when they were in chains and the Lord caused them to be free(Acts 16:25-26).

Sometimes when we go through the pain, we often forget everything else the Lord does for us. When it seems like our enemies and problems are at their strongest we must not lose heart, we must hold on to His words of victory and sing them every day so we are never saddened because we know that our Lord is all-powerful both in the heavens and on earth.
