Verse: Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Bible Reflection- Deuteronomy 31:6 Do Not Fear Them
Moses was talking to the Israelites in his old age. He knew it was almost time for him to leave them and he wanted to reassure them of the Lord’s continuing love for them. He asked them to reflect on the past and remember what the Lord had done for them.
Sometimes when we are encumbered by new problems or difficult situations, we start to forget everything the Lord has done for us in bringing us to the point we are. The journey had been a long one and Moses was telling them that the mere fact that they were still alive and almost at their journey’s end was not a coincidence.
Similarly, our lives today are a reflection of the protection, guidance, and love we have received from the Lord along the long road we have journeyed. We should have no fear in our hearts journeying on, for if the Lord was not going to make us victorious, he wouldn’t have brought us this far.
We should be convinced that the enemies he crushed in our past mean that he will crush more enemies in our future. We should journey on with no fear knowing the Lord God will fight for us.
