Reflection – John 1:16-18 – Know The Father Through The Son

Verse – John 1:16-18

Verse – John 1:16-18

Out of his fullness, we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Reflection – John 1:16-18 – Know The Father Through The Son

The grace of God is abundant to everybody. He gives life in abundance to all his children. He gave the Law to Moses so that those he had chosen through his promise to Abraham would know how to please and honor him so they would remain under his protection and everlasting love.

There are some who rejected him and suffered for it. When the enemy came for them, they had no refuge and were left defenseless and defeated. God then gave us his son so that we may choose to be saved through grace and truth.

He gave us the power to accept his son and be saved through his death and resurrection. In essence, whoever knows the father also knows the son. Whoever has seen the son has also seen the father.

We should therefore not take our relationship with the son for granted. We must remain rooted in him and seek refuge in him against the enemy. When the enemy comes for our soul, we must know the son to the extent that the father knows us and saves us.

How deep do you know Christ? Can he recognize you in a crowd? Does he know you by name? Will you get into his club with no questions asked? If the answer is true for all these questions, then you know God and he knows you too.
