Lying is sadly one thing that a lot of people struggle with. Most often than not, people find themselves in situations where they lie. Now a lie is a lie, no matter your reason for telling the lie.
Whether you did it to protect someone or to protect yourself, even if you think you are lying to someone to protect them, it is still a lie and the word of God speaks strongly against lying that it is even one of the ten commandments.
When you lie to people, friends, family, colleagues – it never ends good and people end up hurt when they finally learn the truth. Lying destroys friendships and relationships.
When someone finally figures out that you lied to them, they lose their trust in you because they feel betrayed. The reason you tell a lie doesn’t matter once the trust is broken.
And another thing is that lying can be so draining as you have to come up with more lies to cover up your lies and you also have to remember the lie you told exactly the way you said it. So it is best to save yourself the trouble and just be honest.
