A Prayer For Progress In The New Year

As the year draws to a close, it’s natural to reflect on the journey behind us. We look back on the lives we’ve lived and the paths we’ve walked.

For some, this reflection may bring feelings of joy and fulfillment over accomplishments as they look back on the goals they have achieved and the progress they have made.

For others, however, this time of introspection may bring feelings of disappointment and regret as they realize that they have not achieved all that they had hoped to.

No matter which of these groups you fall into, one thing is certain, we all share a desire for growth in the coming year. We aim to do better, achieve more, and reach new heights. This is why many set goals, create vision boards, and make New Year’s resolutions.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

While setting goals and making resolutions for the coming year are important steps in striving for improvement, it is also essential to seek the guidance and blessings of the Lord for the journey ahead.

Turning to God in prayer and seeking His wisdom and direction can provide us with the strength and clarity we need to move forward with confidence and purpose.

Laying our goals before Him invites His blessings and aligns our paths with His purpose. By surrendering our plans and desires to the Lord, we can trust that He will lead us in the right direction and help us to achieve our goals in the coming year.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight

Proverbs 3:5-6

Prayer For Progress In The New Year

Our Heavenly Father,

Thank You for how far You have brought me. I am grateful for all I was able to accomplish in the past year. As we step into the new year, I humbly ask for Your protection from all forms of harm, in Jesus’ name. May Your grace be abundant for us and sustain us through each day.

Lord, grant me the strength and endurance needed to journey through this new year. I ask for Your mercy in every endeavor, and for this year to be one of progress, growth, and divine upliftment, in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

Guide me in setting meaningful goals, and fill me with joy and passion to work diligently toward them. If I ever waver, remind me, Lord, to stand firm and persevere.

Lord, please watch over me and guide my steps throughout the year. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. I am confident that with You by my side, this will be a year of fulfillment and progress. By year’s end, I will celebrate each accomplishment, knowing it was made possible by Your love and guidance.

In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
