Reflection – 1 Timothy 1:12-16 – Christ Came For The Sinner

1 Timothy 1:12-16

Verse – 1 Timothy 1:12-16

I thank Christ Jesus, our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason, I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

Reflection – 1 Timothy 1:12-16 – Christ Came For The Sinner

The miracles of Jesus Christ were mind-boggling. He didn’t heal people with mild headaches and sprained ankles. He cast out demons, gave sight to the blind, raised the dead, and fed thousands with little food. What Paul is trying to reiterate here is that Christ came to show mercy to the worst of people so that no one might feel left out and think that their sins are beyond the grace of God.

It does not matter how sinful you have been in the past, Christ can still save your soul from eternal damnation if only you believe in him. Raising Lazarus who had been dead for a while symbolizes the long-suffering trait of Christ to redeem even the lowest of the low.

Your body and your soul are two different things. Let Christ redeem your soul by simply believing what he did for you and accepting him into your heart. Yes, it sounds simple but that is the truth. Our bodies may hunger for food and water to live but the soul only needs Christ.

Christ came for me. I have nothing to prove to anyone because I came to this earth with nothing. It does not matter how dirty I am, Christ has already washed me of any sins. It is now up to me to accept it in my soul and gain salvation. Yes! I accept.

1 Timothy 1:15-16 prayer

Prayer

Forgiving Father,
I have allowed myself to be judged by the devil
He has convinced me I can never please you
But today, I know that he lies
You have already saved me
I need only accept it
Thank you for what you have done for my salvation
I accept Christ as my Lord and Savior deep within my soul today
Amen
