A baby shows progress when he/she continues to grow day by day, month by month. To ensure this growth, they must consistently receive milk and the essential nutrients their bodies need.
As Christian “babies”, we need to keep connected with the One who gives us life. God is our source and creator. That means that if we wish to grow from strength to strength, we must meditate on His word and continue to live by His values.
The new year brings new hope but also new challenges for a Christian. The Lord already knows our beginning and our end. So as we proceed down the uncertain path of life, we must learn to refer to the ultimate map.
God is our strength and our direction as Christians. We must not venture into anything or take any steps without consulting Him first. This is the only way we make progress in all aspects of our lives. We must learn to ignore all other influences that seek to lead us astray and focus on the one true light that takes us to an expected end.
Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
1 Timothy 4:15
Consider your life to be a book full of different chapters. However, in these chapters, the story is still being written so there is no ending yet. However, God know the ending to all these chapters even before you think of them.
You must therefore pray to Him for guidance on every decision you take. You must tell Him you want to make progress in every chapter of your life. Beginning with Him means you must surely end with Him. He will be your light in times of darkness.
The new year brings with it new beginnings, opportunities and adventures. As you near the beginning, put down how you have progressed in all chapters of your life including where you feel you are strong and where you feel weaker.
Approach the new year with God and let Him take over your life. Give Him the pen to your book and let Him write for you. Wherever you think you are progressing or failing within your life should be handed over to Him.
Only He can deliver you to the end you want. Your strength is very little and your will can be affected by the storms of this life. God is the creator of everything and that means He can create a better future for you than you can ever imagine.
