Verse: Exodus 3:1-6
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
Reflections – Exodus 3:1-6 – God decides who He blesses
Maybe you feel like you were born in the wrong place or you are at the wrong place now and so you are at a disadvantage. You hear other people’s success stories and you say, “Oh, they were lucky they were born in a great country” or “they were lucky to have come from a rich home”. And then you feel sorry for yourself and you think that your origin and where you are now put you at a disadvantage.
This Bible text tells a story of how God chose Moses and made him the leader of his people. Moses was a Hebrew who grew up in Egypt. During those times, Pharoah passed a law that all Hebrew boys must be killed. But Moses was saved and even more so, he ended up growing up in the house of Pharoah as the son of Pharoah’s daughter(Exodus 2:10).
Later in his adult life, he killed an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew, because he wanted to save one of his people. But Pharoah found out and wanted him dead, so he fled to a foreign land. He was alone. He had no family or friends with him. He became a foreigner in a foreign land(Exodus 2:22).
Yet, when it was time for God to use him, it didn’t matter that he was in a foreign land. It didn’t matter that he even killed a man in his past. God decided that He wanted to use Moses and He found him and He used him to do his works.
We can learn from this that God will find you no matter what hole you think you find yourself in. When it’s time for God’s purpose for your life to prevail, your origin won’t matter. When it’s time for God’s purpose for your life to prevail, where you are now won’t matter. When it’s time for God to bless you, your past sins won’t stop him. God decides who He blesses. God decides who He uses. And when it’s time for Him to bless you, He will visit you and it won’t matter where you are, He will find you.
So don’t lose faith. Don’t lose hope. Just keep trusting in God and when the time is right, He will visit you. God will always find you if you seek Him. Sometimes you hear stories about how some successful people today began with nothing. The Lord we serve can make huge things out of nothing. Continue to trust and obey Him because, when God decides to bless you, nothing can and nothing will stop Him.

I am ready, Lord. I am screaming and shouting in the wilderness until you find me. Only you can make me into what you purposed me to be. I will change my tone and speak blessings and prosperity unto my life from today.

I know that you had a purpose for creating me
I avail myself to you today
Use me for that purpose
I don’t care about where I am from
What I care about is where you want to take me
So visit me, Lord, and use me to do your works
