Verse – Acts 17:24-27

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

Reflection – Acts 17:24-27 – Your Surname Is ”Of God”

Imagine a father of many children who decides to bring all his children under one roof. He does this to show them that he loves them and doesn’t want any of them too far away from him.

He finds lands for them and gives them everything they need to survive. This father only expects his children to seek him always and come to him to show him that they truly love and appreciate everything he does for them. When they do this he provides for them, protects them, and makes sure they are not stolen away from him into obscurity or destruction.

That is the Father we have in God. He has given us all we need and continues to be there for us no matter what. He has saved us from sin and death and given us life eternal.

We must not be deceived by those who try to represent him with idols, monuments, movements, and other things beneath him. God does not physically exist in any images but dwells in all his children. You can speak to him anytime or anywhere you like. He is always listening and will never turn away from you. You do not need any medium to reach him. You always have his attention as his child.
