Why You Should Read The Bible

For most people, the only time they read the Bible is on Sundays, when they go to church. Aside from that, you will hardly ever see them reading their Bible.

But as Christians, reading and meditating on the word of God should be part of our daily routine. And we will see why it is important to make reading the Bible a habit.

Who is the author of the Bible?

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17

2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible is from God. He is the one who created all of us and so He gave us His word to teach us and direct our path. He is the author of the Bible and there is no other book like the Bible,

The Bible was completed over 2,000 years ago and it took 1,600 years to write the Bible. The books in the Bible were written by different people at different times and yet it has the same theme because it is inspired by God.

Many years ago, the Bible was only in an ancient language that only people who have learnt it could read. So it was only available to priests and they were the only ones who could possess the Bible and teach it to others.

A lot of people gave up their lives to translate the Bible into a common language for all. Today, the Bible has been translated into over 2,500 languages and there are billions of copies around the world.

And one amazing thing about the Bible is that although it was written over 2,000 years ago, it’s content is evergreen. The teachings and the doctrines in the Bible are applicable in our lives today.

In the world we live in, sometimes it can be hard to tell what’s right from wrong. Most people have done the wrong thing believing it was the right thing, reading the Bible helps you to discern.
