5 Transcendent Prayers For Resilience

At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Job 1:20-22

How was it possible that even after Job lost everything he loved, was stricken with disease, and was mocked by others He still did not curse God even though he did nothing wrong to deserve all this punishment.

At which point in our Christian life can we confidently say that no matter the situation we may find ourselves in, whether deserved or not deserved, we will always praise God knowing that we will bounce back in the end.

Sometimes when we face very hard circumstances it is not uncommon for us to crack and start looking for solutions we wouldn’t normally even consider. The bible illustrates the devil as a never relenting lion that keeps looking for people to devour. That means that the slightest hint of weakness shown by any Christian will be pounced upon by the devil.

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

Our standout identity as children of God is to never be defeated. No matter how strong the winds in your life blow you must be able to withstand it. You may fall on your face for a while but the trait of a Christian is to rise as many times as they fall.

Job did not allow the physical turmoil in his life to separate him from the spiritual relationship he had with God. The bible tells us to not be afraid of things that can kill our bodies but rather that which can destroy the soul.

Edify your spirit and make it strong to resist any physical attacks that may come against you. This is because only the strong in spirit can inherit God’s kingdom.

Resilience in dealing with loss

Soldiers of God must be strong to do their bidding. When we go through physical pains in life our physical bodies normally want to give up. Since we are spiritually connected to Christ Jesus our spirits will always want to fight their way through it.

The question is, do our spirits have the resilience and strength to fight through? We have to pray often so we can strengthen our souls and spirits to be able to resist any temptation or go through any tests. When you are victorious and you make it through any tough situations, your faith and spirit become stronger to go through any tests that may come in the future.

I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.
