Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Love is selfless. It does not consider one’s self before giving to another. The ultimate demonstration of love was when Christ gave his life for the salvation of mankind. Finding someone to share your life with is a blessing from God.
Know that as humans in flesh, we are not perfect because of the sin through which we were conceived. That means that there will be times when we unknowingly wrong our partners and expect them to be forgiving and loving towards us regardless. In the same way, our partners will wrong us and expect us to let it go and love them regardless of what they do to us.
An engagement signifies a willingness to accept a person for what they are and share your life with them. It’s a commitment to share their joy, sorrow, happiness, flaws, faults, and everything that makes them who they are.
Everyone is a product of their past experiences and influences so you must be ready to know them thoroughly before you get into a serious commitment like marriage. Your engaged partner will be your friend for life so they should show all the necessary qualities now. In treacherous waters and bad weather, they should be with you and help you overcome any adversity you will face.
Most importantly, you must both put God at the center of your relationship. You must form a very important spiritual bond with God together. He must be the start and finish of your union. You must cover your union with the blood of Christ and you must learn all the important values of God and apply them to your relationship.
