8 Important Prayers For Engaged Couples

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love is selfless. It does not consider one’s self before giving to another. The ultimate demonstration of love was when Christ gave his life for the salvation of mankind. Finding someone to share your life with is a blessing from God.

Know that as humans in flesh, we are not perfect because of the sin through which we were conceived. That means that there will be times when we unknowingly wrong our partners and expect them to be forgiving and loving towards us regardless. In the same way, our partners will wrong us and expect us to let it go and love them regardless of what they do to us.

An engagement signifies a willingness to accept a person for what they are and share your life with them. It’s a commitment to share their joy, sorrow, happiness, flaws, faults, and everything that makes them who they are.

Everyone is a product of their past experiences and influences so you must be ready to know them thoroughly before you get into a serious commitment like marriage. It is during this engagement stage that you will know if the two of you are compatible and capable of living together in perfect harmony and love.

Do everything in love.

1 Corinthians 16:14.

The most important emotion is love. You must have a love for each other. You must do everything in love. If you don’t have love in your heart then your relationship is doomed to fail.

You must be willing to lose everything for that person. Knowing that person is safe and happy should bring you enough comfort. You must be selfless in love. Your union must make you happy and not miserable.

Knowing your partner each day should be joyous for you. Know their sensibilities, imperfections, and insecurities, and be their comfort. Be the one that always brings a smile to their faces. If the whole world rejects them, you must be their hope and rock to lean on.

Your engaged partner will be your friend for life so they should show all the necessary qualities now. In treacherous waters and bad weather, they should be with you and help you overcome any adversity you will face.

Most importantly, you must both put God at the center of your relationship. You must form a very important spiritual bond with God together. He must be the start and finish of your union. You must cover your union with the blood of Christ and you must learn all the important values of God and apply them to your relationship.

Here are some prayers for engaged couples that will help strengthen your union and set you up for a bright and strong marriage.

Prayer against family curses prayer for engaged couples

It was God’s design for man to be joined to woman. Only he knows the future. Let him be center stage in your union. Only he knows what is best for you. If you are engaged to be married make sure God is your beginning. Involve him in all decisions you make together. Plant your matrimonial trees in him. Let him be the seeds of your trees. When God is on your side, nothing can come against you. He is your one true source of happiness and joy in your marriage.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
