For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Romans 8:24
When you don’t see any progress because of limitations, it can be easy to doubt the Lord and lose Hope. But of what use is something that you already see?
If you are promised something you have had before, there is no need to strive for it again. One reason we hope and trust in the Lord is that He promises to do new and glorious things in our lives.
”Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert”
Isaiah 43:19
This is why you must never lose hope. Know in your heart that the Lord has already given you what you asked for but it is yet to appear physically.
David would sometimes give praise to the Lord even when things looked gloomy. This demonstrated the strong faith He had in the Lord. Even when things got really bad and scary for him, he would still drop to his knees and give thanks to God.
This happened because he knew in his heart that as long as he walked with God, his glorious future was assured.
”Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”
Jeremiah 32:27
Thoughts of quitting will enter your head. Thoughts of seeking help from other places you wouldn’t normally go would seem appealing to you. In all these moments, keep your eyes and thoughts on God’s goodness in your life.
Press on, do not give up because the battle is not for the strong or the swift. God has set your glory before you and you can almost reach out and touch it. Do not give up now.
Prayer for today
Gracious Lord,
Strengthen my hand against doubt
Teach me to keep hope alive
Let me seek your grace each time I feel weak
I do not want to give up on your promises to me
No matter the obstacles I face let me stand tall
Thank you for bringing me this far
Let me press on and strive for my glory
Guide and protect me each step of the way
Thank you, Father, for answering my prayer
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
