38 Bible Verses About Adultery

Marriage is a sacred thing and as such, it is important that married couples treat their marriage with honor and not do anything to defile the marriage.

Adultery is when someone has sexual relations outside their marriage. When you are married, you are expected to be sexually involved with your spouse and your spouse alone. Once you get involved with someone else who isn’t your spouse, you become adulterous.

Now, although adultery is about sex, it doesn’t start there. When you look lustfully at someone else who isn’t your spouse, or you find yourself wishing you were rather with someone else who isn’t your spouse, that is also wrong.

Aside from sex, there are other things that are shared between married couples. These include conversations about their marriage and marriage issues, conversations about sex, and other important conversations.

If you find yourself having these conversations with someone who isn’t your spouse, that is wrong too. Going to someone who isn’t your spouse for emotional support is not good either. There are so many other things about adultery.

See below for bible verses about adultery, to help you understand this sin and why it is wrong, not just in the sight of God, but in the sight of man too.
