For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
The text speaks about the power we receive when we are in Christ. The Spirit of God existed from the beginning of creation. It was responsible for making most of the things God created. Through the Bible, we learn that once the spirit of God descends on his children they start to do wonderful things.
God’s spirit fell on Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Sampson, David, Joshua, Moses, Noah, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and many more prophets in the bible. It did not matter that these people were mere mortals. Once the spirit of God moved into them, they began to do extraordinary things.
Moses led his people out of slavery through the parted red sea, the desert into the Promised Land because he was led by the spirit of God.
Sampson became a strong judge of his people because of the spirit of God. Many other prophets in the bible brought their people back to God and his blessings because they were led by the spirit of God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ was formed by the spirit of God in Mary’s womb so that he could become flesh and physically appear unto us.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Romans 8:11
Now that you are in Christ Jesus, this same spirit is what dwells within you. The same power that was given to the above-mentioned people and prophets of God is what you have received. It does not come alone. It comes with power and authority.
When you have power and authority, you can choose to use it any way you want. You can either do nothing with it or you can use it to reach your full potential.
Let us remember that God has a purpose for creating each and every one of us. Our lives are not by accident. When you think about the number of sperm that you fought off to reach your mother’s egg and fertilize it, it should let you know that you alone were destined for something special.
The spirit of God is your power. Edify it, rekindle it and use it to create your own realities. God gave us his spirit so that we could live on earth without fear of anything.
No matter what the future looks like, you can overcome any obstacles in your path because you have the spirit of the Most High inside you.
Don’t forget what Jesus said in 1 John 4:4, You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Before you begin any journey in the Lord, picture the end of that journey and already count yourself victorious because our God does not fail. His spirit remains in you as long as you remain in him. Nothing we accomplish in life is by our own strength but it is with the power that he gives us through his spirit.
Meditate on his word every day and let him work through you in all your endeavors. Our physical bodies have limits but the spirit in us does not that is why we should always do things that will strengthen the spirit. When the spirit in you is strong, you can overcome anything.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
